The immediate past Member of Parliament for the Ledzokuku constituency, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye who was voted out in the 2020 elections claims he can get back his seat.

According to him, he is confident of taking back the seat from the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections.

Dr. Okoe Boye's loss came as a shock to a lot of Ghanaians as he was predicted to be one of the MP's who would retain their seats for the then incumbent New Patriotic Party.

Considering the fact that he was more involved in community engagements and the welfare of his constituents, his loss was quite shocking.

Okoe Boye, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2020 parliamentary candidate garnered 54,072 votes in the constituency’s parliamentary election.

Speaking in an interview on Citi TV, Okoe Boye said his resolve to return to Parliament remains unbroken.

“As a scientist, you are taught to have the mindset of ‘never say never.’ I believe a second term in the constituency is possible, even when people may think it is not.”

The Ledzokuku constituency has the habit of just giving their parliamentarians just one term in office, with the exception of the late Nii Adjei Boye Sekan.

The constituency has had five MPs, two of whom are females and the rest males.

In other news, the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says Ghana will not slip back into the prolonged period of outages between 2012 and 2016 christened ‘Dumsor’.

The minister’s remarks come on the back of incessant power cuts in various parts of the country in the past few days, heightening fears among Ghanaians that the country is gradually moving towards the unbearable ‘Dumsor’ era.

Despite these unannounced power cuts, the Ghana Grid Company, (GRIDCo) said the country has enough power to supply.
