Award-winning Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson, has painted a miserable picture of Ghana under the Akufo-Addo administration.

In a series of tweets sighted by YEN.com.gh, the ‘Keteke’ actress said: “This country is exceptionally hard for anyone who wants to walk the right path!”

She bemoaned the disturbing phenomena where people had to “cut unthinkable corners” to make ends meet in the current Ghanaian economy.

“Everywhere bribe! Even if you don’t want to, it’s what you have to in a lot of cases. Mabr3,” she stated.

Forson’s frankness generated loads of reactions.

@OwenPasino praised Forson’s bravery in holding those in power accountable.

I like her brave spirit. She says things as they are. "The unthinkable corners" heerrrr hmmm. Some of your colleagues will come out to say hard work.

@SharkMike2 added:

Hard truth. But we CANNOT develop without doing the RIGHT THING. REASON why we have so many die-hard supporters all over. But it will surely change; will not be like this forever!

Unfortunately, it's become the norm. Go against it and you'll NOT get that document, appointment, contract, signature, etc.
What amazes me is some people expect to be bribed to do the work they're employed to do.

It is just sad Ghana is rather moving backward. There is no plan or policies.

Meanwhile, Singer and Political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as APlus also expressed grave doubts over President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to the fight against corruption.

He said the president’s attitude towards anti-corruption campaigners like former Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo and former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu is unfortunate.

“When President Akufo-Addo admonished that we should be citizens and not spectators, I thought the messiah had arrived. But, I no longer believe he's the messiah. He fights anybody who is fighting corruption,” APlus said on Starr FM’s Starr Chat on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
