Police officer exhumes over 10 dead bodies at Gomoa Fawomaye; refuses to return them

- A police officer has allegedly exhumed and escaped with over 10 dead bodies from the Gomoa Fawomaye Cemetery

- According to the Chief of the town, Superintendent Cobby wanted to buy the land where the cemetery was situated

- Failure to sell the land to him forced him to storm the cemetery and do away with the dead bodies of over 10 accident victims

News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that a police officer has allegedly exhumed and escaped with over 10 dead bodies from the Gomoa Fawomaye Cemetery.

The Odikro of the area, Nana Okofo Kwakye Abeka Acquah III said Superintendent Robert Cobby approached them to sell a piece of land for a project he wanted to undertake.

According to the Chief, he informed the police officer the land he wanted was a cemetery and was not up for sale.

The Chief stated that the next day, the police officer and some thugs had invaded the land which happens to be the cemetery, broke down tombstones, and made away with 10 dead bodies and skeletons.

Inspection and investigations into the matter pointed all fingers at the police officer who earlier showed interest in that particular piece of land.

The report filed by Starr News indicated that all the graves that were invaded were that of people who died in an accident.

The police officer who after confrontation has threatened them has however been given a one-week ultimatum to return all the dead bodies to their graves or face their wrath

Spiritually, the chief said the invasion and destruction of the cemetery will cause a lot of problems for the community.

In a phone interview, Superintendent Robert Cobby confessed to taking the dead bodies from their graves but has blatantly refused to disclose the whereabouts of the graves.

In other news, the father of the murdered 10-year-old boy at Kasao by two teenagers has vowed to take the law into his own hands if proper justice is not served to the culprits of this crime.

In a report filed by 3news, the father, Frank Mensah Abdallah, has called on the appropriate quarters to ensure that justice is served for his late son.

“I will take the law into my hands and seek justice for my late son, if proper justice is not done,” Abdallah said.
