Breaking News: Queen Elizabeth's husband Prince Philip dies at 99
News reaching YEN.com.gh has it that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away today, April, 9, 2021.
Prince Philip is said to have died peacefully at the age of 99 having dedicated the majority of his life to the Queen and the Royal Family.
A statement from Buckingham Palace announcing the unfortunate news read:
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss."
The Duke of Edinburgh was once described by Queen Elizabeth as her "strength and stay" and has lived up to the description for the past 70 years.
Prince Philip, born in 1921, served in the Royal Navy and was noted by his comrades for his jokes.
After he first met the Queen, Elizabeth "never looked at anyone else" and once Philip proposed his destiny as royal consort was sealed.
He left behind four children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He resigned from public office in August 2017 at the age of 96 after making an impact in the lives of many.

While speaking in an interview with Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix and spotted by YEN.com.gh, the Ghanaian fashionista decided to speak about the matter for the very first time.
According to her, the husband cheated on her with another woman in his base in London but she eventually found out about it.
