Ghanaian economist, entrepreneur, and energy specialist, Cletus Baalongbuoro, is helping to address a profound climate crisis by transforming organic waste into cooking fuel.

The chief executive officer of Ponaa Briquettes formally called Clean Coal Power makes efficient use of organic waste by recycling it into a smokeless, low-cost alternative charcoal that can be used for cooking, replacing wood burning.

Cletus Baalongbuoro who is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has been celebrated on social media for his contributions toward addressing climate change.

In a post by the US Embassy Ghana, Baalongbuoro was lauded for creating jobs for countless women, educating Ghanaian youth, and reducing household expenses on cooking fuel through his company, Ponaa Briquettes.

''As the founder and CEO of Ponaa Briquettes (formally Clean Coal Power), he makes efficient use of organic waste by recycling it into a smokeless, low-cost alternative charcoal that can be used for cooking, replacing wood burning.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported a social media user with the Facebook name, Andrews Nuonibe Larkai, has given an emotional narration about how a woman who had faced neglect has become a lawyer.

In a Facebook post, Larkai recounted that Esther Akua Gyamfi, who made history as Ghana's first-ever International and Comparative Disability Law and Policy lawyer with a disability had faced rounds of rejections from society after she became disabled at the age of two (2).

Recounting now-barrister Esther Akua Gyamfi's emotional journey, Larkai wrote, ''she became paralysed at the age of two (2). Doctors, nurses, friends, and family advised her [mother] to get rid of her because she would have to babysit her for the rest of her life. But in all these, her mother's response was: "everything works together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.''
