In a post on his Facebook page, Alfred Aborga disclosed how he and his longtime friend used to sleep on the bare floor in a rented room using their backpacks as pillows.

''I remember when I started life as a man, my buddy and I rented a room from our small savings. We finally got a room and we had nothing ... No bed, no mat, no carpet.

''All we had was our backpacks with a few clothes. (About two to three tops and two pairs of jeans each). We slept on the floor in the room using the backpacks as pillows. We had “Yam” phones too so no entertainment,'' he recalled.

Alfred Aborga indicated that his girlfriend at that time came to their rescue.

''She abandoned her hostel and brought her cooker, student mattress, and a few things to the crib. As my girl come, my nigga [friend had to] forgo the bed for the other room to sleep on a blanket we bought at the Madina Market.''

Despite their struggles, Aborga and his friend believed they'd make it and be proud of themselves someday.

''But each morning we wake up, roll up and tease ourselves about the hardships ... All we say is one day we go sit and laugh about today.

''[Now], anytime I drop in Ghana, he will pick me up from the Kotoka International Airport straight to his mansion and we will laugh about those days,'' he added.
