Speaking to the NDC’s Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) chapter of the University of Cape Coast, the firebrand communication officer said the country has stagnated under the leadership of the president.

Gyamfi said as reported in an article filed by Ghanaweb that the president came to power with three agendas—kill, steal and destroy.

He stated, “If you get to know some of the sordid deals they have done, you will weep for Ghana. You will know that indeed President Akufo-Addo [and Bawumia] came to power to steal, kill and destroy because even revenues that are yet to be collected have been mortgaged for the next 10 years to collect a loan of 1.5billion dollars with nothing to show for it….”

Touching on the scramble to lead the NDC into the 2024 elections, Gyamfi said without equivocation that former President John Dramani Mahama will be the party’s presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.

According to Gyamfi, the former president will be the flagbearer “by hook or crook.”

President Akufo-Addo defeated the former president in the 2020 election to secure another four-year term.

He collected 51.302% of the votes cast against the latter’s 47.359%.

The votes difference between the two candidates stood at 517, 231, representing a four-percentage point, one of the highest since 1996.

In other news, the president stated that he will under no circumstance jail any of his appointees based on hearsay.

According to him, he will only jail his 'corrupt' appointees based on strong glaring evidence.

Akufo-Addo said mere allegations against some of his appointees will not be enough to open criminal proceedings against them.

There have been countless allegations leveled against president Akufo-Addo for letting some of his corrupt appointees go scot-free.

Most of the president’s appointees have been accused either of property grabbing within a short period, engaging in galamsey activities, as well as engaging in aiding and abetting a crime.

“I’ll, however, not act on hearsay or mere allegations without more. I will not hesitate to act, though, when the evidence is hard before the police and I would do so irrespective of the standing of the person or persons involved,” Akufo-Addo said.
