Former Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, revealed in a yet-to-be aired interview that his childhood dream was to be a catholic priest.

It was, however, thwarted after impregnating his girlfriend a few months before he could enter the seminary.

“I actually wanted to become a catholic priest and that was the only thing I wanted, but before I could complete Lower Six, my girlfriend gave birth to my first son. I experimented and the whole experiment went wrong and he was born,” the Bolgatanga East MP disclosed in the yet-to-be aired PM Express Personality Profile on Joy News.

“So that was how my priestly ambitions ended…I was left with no option but to become a lawyer,” he added.

Dr. Ayine studied at the University of Ghana Law School where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He also studied International Economic Law at the University of Michigan Law School in 1998.

He also attended Stanford University Law School, in California, US for a JSD (Trade and Democracy) in 2006.

Dr. Ayine was a member of the legal team of former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 election petition trial.

He was cited for contempt after saying in one of his post-trial interviews that the court had a “predetermined agenda” to rule against the former president.

The Supreme Court discharged him after rendering an unqualified apology for his comments.

Completed in 2017 by the John Mahama administration, the airport had not been in use for over three years.

Sharing pictures from the ceremony on Facebook, Gunu wrote: “With the opening of the Ho Airport, our brothers and sisters in and around Kumasi who travel to Togo to trade can now fly from Kumasi to Ho and then connect to Aflao by road in 1 hour 45 minutes.”

“This means that they cut off the long road trip from Kumasi through Accra before connecting to Aflao through Sogakope...” he added, stressing, “What Mahama envisions with closed eyes, Akufo-Addo will never see even if he is floating in the skies.”

Gunu’s comments generated massive reactions.

Ebenezer Yesutor Atsiatorme stated: “We all want good and betterment of our country. Some of this pure propaganda is the reason behind numerous abandoned state projects. At least give credit to the one who started it, to the one who completed it, and to the one who commissioned it for operational use and we are good to go!!!”
