The campaign to free actress Akuapem Poloo, born Rosemond Brown, is gaining more support with close to 30,000 people signing for her to gain her freedom.
The likes of rapper Joey B are amongst the public figures who have signed the petition.
On Friday, April 16, 2021, Poloo was sentenced to a 90-day jail term after she pleaded to charges of publishing obscene material with two counts of domestic violence over posting a naked photo of her son in 2020.

"We are calling on the president of the 4th Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to pardon this young single mother who can be blamed for perhaps poor judgement but in no shape or form deserves incarceration," reads part of the text on change.org calling for Poloo's release.
The likes of Sarkodie, Efya, Bridget Otoo, Jessica Opare-Sarforo, and Vanessa Gyan had previously pleaded with the court to have mercy on her prior to the sentence.

In other news about Akuapem Poloo, record producer and hiplife pioneer, Da' Hammer, born Edward Nana Poku Osei, has chastised people opposing the signing of a petition for authorities to pardon Akuapem Poloo.
Actress Akuapem Poloo, born Rosemond Brown, was handed a 90-day jail term by an Accra Circuit Court for posting and publishing a naked photo with her son.
Hammer of The Last Two vehemently chided social media commentators denigrating people who are signing the petition for authorities in the country to pardon the actress.
In a long Facebook message, he said, ''the social media commentators suddenly turned litigation experts, attacking people who're signing a petition to pardon a girl who was oblivious to the consequences of her actions, please your take doesn’t matter to anyone. Your take is not absolute, it is relative. It's only your opinion based on your sad situation. We don't want to hear how you think she deserves anything.''
He queried why people are angered that others are appealing for the state to pardon the actress.
''Why are you so pissed that we're pleading for someone. Where is the love? Are people this bitter? Haven’t you ever had your mum beg for you when your dad was about to lash you?
''If you think she deserves the punishment so much why don’t you go home and gloat, obviously you won? Isn’t she jailed? What are you doing still hanging around here? Is it that bad, you seriously need to also make sure she gets no sympathy as well?''
According to the renowned record producer, he has never met Akuapem Poloo but he ''can unequivocally attest to the fact that she wasn’t trying to communicate an [raunchy] image.''
