- A Nigerian man identified as Ayo Ojeniyi caused quite a stir on social media after sharing a photo of a Beetle car that was sold for N3,908.40 (GHC60)

- He asked social media users what they could buy with such amount of money today and many shared their opinions

- Some of those that reacted said many people could not afford the car back in the day because minimum wage was N120 (GHC1.82)

A Nigerian man, Ayo Ojeniyi, has taken people on a trip down memory lane after sharing a photo of a Beetle car that was sold for N3,908.40 (GHC60) in 1982.

Ojeniyi also shared the receipt of the car purchase and asked people what they could by with such amount of money today.

Reacting to the photo, a Facebook user identified as Aliyu Hamagam said minimum wage in 1982 was N120, suggesting that a Beetle car was expensive back in the day.

"In 1982, the national minimum wage was only N120. So you can understand what it means for one to raise about N4000 for a Beetle car."

In other news, a Mercedez-Benz reportedly belonging to one Alhaji Agyaa, a rich Ghanaian man in the 70s-80s, has been discovered after about 40 years of being hidden in a garage.

In a post on famous sports journalist, Saddick Adams' Twitter page, it is indicated that the discovery was made at Techiman, the capital of Techiman Municipal and the Bono East Region of Ghana.
