Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Youth and Sports says the Black Stars will need 25 million dollars for the 2022 World Cup and African Cup of Nations competitions.

Ussif made the disclosure on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Jubilee House on the best ways to raise funds for the Black stars before the football competitions begin.

At the same ceremony, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo charged the Black Stars to bring the 2022 African Cup of Nations trophy home to end the nearly 40-year drought.

He wants the team to make the semifinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup: "The target is to bring the cup home by winning the AFCON in 2022. We have to go a step further than the second places recorded in 1992, 2010, and 2015 and bring the forty (40) years drought to an end,” he stated during a breakfast meeting with CEOs of corporate Ghana on Monday, April 26, 2021.

Still on football, Samuel Kofi Mills, the son of the late former president, John Evan Atta Mills, is set to join one of the biggest football clubs in Ghana, Accra Hearts of Oak. According to information gathered by YEN.com.gh, Kofi Mills is set to be appointed as the next Hearts of oak managing director.

The Phobians have been without a managing director for many months after Frederick Moore left the club for medical reasons. The reports also indicate that Kofi Mills has met with the majority shareholder of the club, Togbe Afede XIV to discuss the way forward of the club.
