A throwback photo of Samini and Stonebwoy has emerged online.

The picture shows a teary-eyed Activate hitmaker holding onto the hand of the former, who is sitting in his car.

It is unknown exactly when the photo was taken. However, it is likely to be during the early days of Stonebwoy in the Ghanaian music industry.

Samini is often credited with providing a home for Stonebwoy when he started pursuing his musical career through collaborations and introducing him to stakeholders in the music industry.

The former's endorsement for the likes of Kofi Kinaata and Kaakie is seen as a driving force for their mainstream success.

Stonebwoy made history on April 17, 2021, as the first Ghanaian artiste to garner a million views on Youtube within a day.

The record was scored by the official visual for his song Blessing featuring Ghanaian-American rapper, Vic Mensa, who is signed to Jay-Z's Ron Nation. The video was directed by Jorge Freeman, and the song was produced by legendary Ghanaian producer, Kaywa.

With this, the award-winning dancehall artiste breaks the record set by Ghanaian youth rapper Yaw Tog whose song Sore remix featuring UK-based Ghanaian rapper Stormzy scored one million views in three days.

The Mensa feature added to a number of high-profile collaborations by the We Move artiste, including a recent one with Jamaican music star, Sean Paul. He is featured on the remix of ‘Guns of Navarone’ alongside Mutabaruka, the famous Jamaican poet.

“I was like nah, I have to be on this album. He says it’s pretty much closed, and I said I don’t mind, just open up a thing… so he goes onto the album and opens a verse for me,” disclosed Stonebwoy about how he became the only non-Jamaican artiste featured on Paul's album.
