The Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has opened up about her past life when she was way younger.
According to her, she experimented with the practice of lesbianism known in her secondary school days as ‘supi supi’ while growing up as a girl.
Speaking on StarrChat on Wednesday, April 28, and as reported by Ghanaweb, the communication minister revealed that to her, that stage of her life was just a passing phase in which she had to explore her sexuality.

She made this known while sharing her views on LGBTQ+ issues that recently made headlines in the country
She added that even though she was attracted to the opposite sex, she just wanted to have a feel of how it was to be with the same sex.
“Most of us who went through the boarding system would have had some exposure particularly in girls’ schools and in some mixed schools as well with ‘supism’. We did it. I don’t make any apologies about it, but I like my men.”
Ursula said she was happy that during the time when she was busily exploring her sexuality with girls, there was nothing like social media, or else it would have been a permanent record she would have had to live with the rest of her life.
“You’re exploring your sexuality, so you do all kinds of silly things growing up. Thank God there were no social media when we were growing up; you will leave a permanent record of some of these crazy things…”
In other news, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, is expected to be summoned to Parliament.
Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, revealed that the sector minister will be interrogated on the takeover of AirtelTigo by the government.
Ursula Owusu described the takeover as a positive step that adds to the government’s wide portfolio of information technology infrastructure to be managed.
Government has debunked claims that its takeover of AirtelTigo will result in job losses. It has also debunked claims that the takeover will reduce the quality of service when it comes to voice and data.
