You're one of Ghana's problems - Efia Odo jabbed over decision to lead #FixTheCountry demo

The decision by television host, Efia Odo, and some social media influencers to embark on the #FixTheCountry demonstration has been met with varied reactions.

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, YEN.com reported that Odo and other social media influencers have notified the Ghana Police Service of their intention to embark on a demonstration against the government on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Under the rallying call #FixTheCountry, Ghanaians online have taken on the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government to task by outlining the various issues slowing the growth of Ghana, and its effects on citizens.

The planned demonstration has been met with either full support or mockery, with some people taking a swipe at some of the front runners of the planned demo.

Larbi Kofi wrote: "What does she do for a living? How has she through her social media contributed to fixing Ghana? It's funny how to understand things now. I weep for this country. Tweeeeeeea"

"She's one of Ghana's problems, how about she fixes herself first," jabbed Obaayaa Diamond Nyaarko Adomako.

"please kindly tell her to fix herself cos she's already condemned. after that then we talk later cos fools don't have any sense to teach lessons," added Christian Pee Tee Jnr

On the other hand, some social media users have also defended her rights and that of all other protesters to demonstrate.

"She has every right to speak or to demonstrate against what is going on in the country as nana Addo did 25 years ago. Everyone has their right to speak his or her mind without insulting anybody," commented Kofi Justice.

Nana Kweku Gentle also said: "Akuffo Addo led kumepreko demonstration 25years ago and today he is the president so if Efia leads upcoming demonstration, it's likely that she will be a president in the next 25yrs. If p then q. Future will affirm or deny this antecedent. Great move tho"

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that celebrity backing for the #FixTheCountry campaign was growing with the likes of Yvonne Nelson, Bridget Otoo, Serwaa Amihere, and many others joining the train.

John Dumelo previously expressed support for calls by Ghanaians for the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government to resolve the nation's issues.

Rallying under the trending hashtag, Ghanaians online took the Akufo-Addo-led government to task calling for solutions to the country's problems.

Former TV3 presenter, Bridget Otoo took a swipe at celebrities who have remained silent about the campaign.

"Celebrity Adongo will collect 1 million Ghana cedis to lead NAM1’s scam and lose his/her voice when needed on real issues #FixTheCountry," she tweeted.
