The recent intermittent power cut is wreaking more havoc than can be imagined.
A 76-year-old prophetess has been burnt to death after fire gutted the Mount Zion Prayer Ministry at Komenda.
Identified as Margaret Emmisah, the old lady was reportedly charred to death after a power outage triggered the fire.
The unfortunate incident occurred at about 12:00 am Thursday dawn, May 6, 2021, Starr.com.gh reports.
Confirming the incident to Starr News, DOIII Jacob Krakue of the Komenda District Fire Command said the Service received a call about the fire incident on the premises of the Zion Prayer Ministry at about 12:00 am Thursday dawn.
According to him, preliminary investigations have revealed that the fire started as a result of the intermittent power outages in the area.
DOII Krakue said light in the area was off throughout the day and so when the light came back on, there was a trigger in the power cables causing the fire outbreak.
In other news, a female recruit with the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has died in a ghastly motor accident.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Jeway Wharf Junction in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region on Monday, May 3, 2021.
The deceased, identified as Hannah Nwole, a 33-year-old officer, as reported by theghanareport, was on her way to work at about 5:50 pm when the incident happened.
The report indicated that she was aboard a commercial motorbike, popularly known as okada enroute Anomatoape Checkpoint where she was to report for duty.
Hannah reportedly sat at the back of the okada with both legs on one side of the bike and without a helmet.
According to an eyewitness report from the scene of the accident, the rider took a sharp turn since her legs were positioned at one side of the bike, and she lost balance and fell off the bike.
