A video showing a fully automated cocoa pod breaker that was built by a Ghanaian engineer named Ing Ebenezer Hammah is finally gaining popularity on social media.

This was after YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Chinese had invented a cocoa pod breaker soon after entering the industry whilst most Ghanaian farmers still used the manual method.

According to Ing Eddie Kay who shared the video on social media, the Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Pod Breaker was developed four years ago by an engineer who is also the CEO of Hammah Engineering Company.

Ing Eddie Kay further added that Ghanaian engineers have been racking their brains to bring forth workable solutions that would help fix the systems in Ghana but the problem is with the leaders.

"It is not new, our Engineers have never failed us. We have even built machines which turn cocoa into ethanol, Ghana still has geniuses but our leadership is the enemy.," he indicated.

The video attached to the post shows that the machine is able to neatly crack the cocoa pods and remove the content through a separate channel whilst the pod itself is ejected elsewhere.

In another interesting report, as part of the FixTheCountry movement that has currently taken over social media, photos of the Wenchi Tomato Factory which was built under Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah have surfaced.

It is reported that in the 1960s, the factory was the lifeblood of the Bono economy and used to process vegetables for local consumption and export with over 3,000 employees.
