Among those left in anguish was Nancy Chepoisho Sirma, who had tied knots with Mnangat, three weeks before he died.

As reported by Standard, Sirma was devastated after receiving news of the demise of her newfound love, only left with their wedding memories which took place in Kambi ya Ndege in West Pokot.

Mnangat, aged 27 years, is said to have left home for work a week after his union, leaving his 21-year-old wife at home with his parents.

His cousin, Hillary Pkiach, described him as a hard-working man, disclosing that he had finished constructing a three-bedroom house for his parents.

Being the family's sole breadwinner, the deceased reportedly had plans to open a business for his wife.

Enock Irungu

In related news, Enock Irungu Mukoshi was among the eight Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers who were killed in an explosion at the Baure area in Lamu West.

Fresh details indicate that the KDF soldier was planning to get married to the love of his life in August 2021.

Irungu had earlier visited his fiancee's parents and plans were underway for the bride price to be paid ahead of their wedding.

The 30-year-old had on May 5, 2021, introduced the wife to be to his parents, Charles Mukoshi and Agness Khayenge, who are based in Ebukhai village, Kakamega county.

Unfortunately, that was the last day Irungu's parents saw him alive.

Khayenge said on the fateful day, the deceased called her few hours informing her that he was going on an operation and that his phone would be off.
