News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that two men suspected to be armed robbers have been beaten to pulp by an angry mob for robbing a mobile money agent in broad day light.

The incident reportedly took place at Asuboi in the Ayensuano district in the Eastern region.

According to a report filed by StarrNews, the robbers who were on a motorbike, attacked the mobile money agent in the morning of Tuesday, June 2, 2021 at gunpoint.

The report further stated that they attempted to abscond with about Ghc2000 but were pursued with another motorbike, captured and were beaten up mercilessly.

Both suspects were reportedly rushed to the Suhum government hospital for treatment but one of them is feared dead.

In other news, the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has begun moves to report the driver of the ambulance seen in a viral video being used to transport cement.

Originally assigned to Sege in Ada West of the Greater Accra Region under the one constituency, one ambulance initiative, the ambulance was sent to a garage in Mamprobi, Accra for repairs in March.

The Public Relations Officer of NAS, Simmons Yussif Kewura said the ambulance was sent to the garage for its faulty gearbox to be fixed.

Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM, Kewura said the conduct of the staff of the garage and the driver will be reported to the police.

He said the mechanic and the driver carried about 15 bags of cement which are suspected to belong to the former.

This occurred when the two embarked on a test drive “to find out whether the gearbox is working or not, so on their way…yes outside Greater Accra, because they know what they were (ostensibly) using it for,” Kewura stated.
