Naa Ashorkor opens up about discussing issues affecting women on her eye-opening TV show

Television host, Naa Ashorkor, has opened up about her experiences hosting the television show, 'We Got This Africa' (WGTA) which delves into issues for, and about women.

Some of the topics discussed so far on the show which premiered on April 5, 2021, on GhOneTV include infertility, childbirth, postpartum body image, breastfeeding, and single motherhood.

In a recent interview with YEN.com.gh, Ashorkor shared that hosting We Got This Africa has been an eye-opening experience.

"Hosting WGTA opened my eyes to how similar my challenges as a young woman are to that of other women," Ashorkor said.

"Oftentimes, we think our struggles are peculiar to us alone. But as women, however diverse our life’s journeys are, we share similar thoughts, pain, and hopes in life."

On April 21, 2021, YEN.com.gh reported that a number of Ghanaian celebrities including Berla Mundi, Lydia Forson, and Gloria Sarfo congratulated Naa Ashorkor after she was featured on Deutsche Welle (DW), the German public state-owned international broadcaster.

The Ghanaian actress and television presenter was featured on a program called 'The 77 Percent' referred to as a 'platform for Africa's Youth.'

About three weeks later, she graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism with a Master's degree in Public Relations.

In other news, Ruby Amanfu, a Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter has been named the president of the Nashville Chapter of the Recording Academy, organisers of the Grammy Awards.

She is expected to lead operations of the organisation behind the world's most prestigious music awards scheme in the city best known as the home of country music.
