A new video showing how the mortal remains of New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart and former CEO of Forestry Commission, Sir John was received by his family has popped up.

In the video sighted on Instagram by YEN.com.gh, the mortal remains of Sir John, known in real life as Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, was handed over to his family at his hometown in a black coffin.

A mammoth crowd had gathered in front of his family home as they mourned the former government official who was obviously a hometown hero.

Sir John was being carried in what looked like a black coffin which was also placed inside its box.

He was brought in a sleek hearse accompanied by a convoy as the town's people in Sir John's hometown of Sakrawo-noo littered the streets to pay their last respects to him.

The whole town appeared to have come to a standstill as they mourned a proud son of the land.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that all was set for the final funeral rite of late Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission of Ghana and former New Patriotic Party former General Secretary, Sir John.

The NPP stalwart is set to be buried on Thursday, June 3, 2021, in his hometown, Sakrawo-noo.

Prior to the funeral service, a photo of the NPP bigwig's final resting place has popped up on social media.

The photo showed a painted, walled, and gated edifice looking like a 2-bedroom house with a huge picture of Sir John mounted on it.

Reports reaching YEN.com.gh from Adom FM indicated that the edifice was going to be Sir John's tombstone and final resting place.

Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie famed as Sir John was born in 1957 but died on July 1, 2020.

He was a Ghanaian lawyer and politician who held a top position in the party of the current ruling government.

Meanwhile, a staunch Ghanaian Manchester City fan has been dealt a bitter pill to swallow after losing a bet against his friends who support Champions League winners, Chelsea.

In a new video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the Man City fan was seen being assisted with tools to help him scrub a public toilet in his neighbourhood.

Apparently, he placed a bet in the neighbourhood saying Manchester City was going to beat Chelsea at the Champions League final.
