Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, known by the stage name Shatta Wale, has called for the decentralization of annual events.
While speaking in his State Of The Industry Address which was shared online on June 2, 2021, Shatta Wale called for a total decentralization of annual music events in the country.
The Ayoo hitmaker moved for the big and popular music events in the calendar year to rotate from one region to the other.

He said Greater Accra, especially Accra, should not be the only place where huge events in the music industry should be staged.
Explaining why he thought the move was necessary, Shatta Wale indicated that it was going to serve as a springboard for artistes who hail from the other regions.
The Taking Over hitmaker added that apart from throwing the spotlight on regional acts, the move would also serve as a tourist survey that would attract investors to those places.

In a related story, the outspoken award-winning Ghanaian musician proposed a national agenda to promote Ghanaian music.
While speaking in his State of The Industry Address and monitored by YEN.com.gh, the Ayoo hitmaker asked that the institution and enforcement of a national agenda to prioritize Ghanaian music over music from other countries.
According to the Melissa crooner, Ghanaian music should be given 90% priority on the country’s media space with the remaining 10 percent shared among music coming from other countries.
He opined that for his national plan to work, all stakeholders had to play their roles.
Shatta Wale mentioned some of the stakeholders as media houses, event organizers, and the government of Ghana.
In other news, more sad scenes from the final funeral rites of late New Patriotic Party stalwart, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie famed as Sir John, have landed on social media.
One of such sad moments that have broken hearts online was when the son of the late politician was seen crying as he prepared to bury his dad.
Sir John's son was seen wearing a branded t-shirt with his dad's picture in it as he watched his mortal remains being conveyed from the hearse.
