Talented young man uses old newspapers to make fine portrait of Akon, photos go viral

A young Nigerian man from Anambra state, Kyrian Arinze, is doing what some people in his profession may find very difficult to do.

Before his artwork gained massive popularity on social media, the young man dazzled many with his pieces during his National Youth Service Corps year in Aba, Abia state.

It was not easy when I started

On Thursday, June 3, an artwork he made from newspapers went viral on Facebook. He transformed the old papers into a beautiful portrait of American Singer Akon.

Speaking with YEN.com.gh, Arinze revealed that he spent a week and some days creating the piece. He added that when he started, he could spend one month to make such.

On some of his challenges, the man who self-taught himself the art said he sometimes makes mistakes with colour combination.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a Nigerian artist, Kelly Omodamwen, amazed many with his creativity as he used spark plugs to make beautiful art installations.

As some of his works surfaced on Twitter, many wondered how long it took him to beat the plugs into shape and create what he intended with them.

With spark plugs, he has been able to create masterpieces that depict a ram and drummer. The intricate design of the installations makes them more beautiful to look at.
