- Gladson Awako reveals the role played by T.B Joshua in 2009 triumph
- According to him, T.B Joshua predicted the player who will be red-carded in the final game
- Awako was part of the U-20 team that beat Brazil on penalties in 2009
Black Stars midfielder Gladson Awako has disclosed that the late Prophet T.B Joshua accurately predicted the outcome of their FIFA U-20 World Cup triumph in 2009.
The Nigerian man of God passed away on Saturday just 6 days to his 58th birthday, leaving many of his followers heartbroken.
Timotope Balogun is revered for his prophecies and one of such was when he predicted Ghana's triumph over Brazil in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt 12 years ago.
A member of the team, Gladson Awako revealed how they had a session with him on phone during the tournament.
“During the U-20 World Cup in Egypt 2009, we normally gathered around the centre to pray. The coach usually made us speak to a man on phone,” Gladson Awako told YAC media.
“He will put the phone on loud speaker so we could all hear and then pray and do what he says," the midfielder added.
“Most of the things he said came to pass especially the final. He predicted that we will get an early red card and also told us how we will arrange the penalty takers.
“All that came to pass. Honestly I didn’t know who it was until we won the cup and they told us the man was TB Joshua.”
Ghana won the World after beating Brazil on penalties having played most of the game with a man down.
The deputy Black Stars captain who was in Ghana for almost two weeks arrived in camp two days before the team left for Rabat to face the Atlas Lions.
Partey's indisciplined behaviour forced coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor to show him the exit door as the team rounded up preparation for the friendly.
