VGMA 2021: Sarkodie Honours Castro With A Surprise Performance With Kurl Songx (video)

Rapper Sarkodie pulled a surprise on fans at the 2021 Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) as he came on stage to perform.
Sarkodie's performance which was in honour of Castro was never publicised ahead of the event and thus got fans wowed.
Midway through the Day 2 of the 2021 VGMA, co-host Giovani Caleb announced that there was going to be a special performance in memory of Castro.

Castro, one of the best vocalists of his time, went missing in July 2014 and thus would be officially declared to have passed away in July.
The special performance was opened by singer Kurl Songx who sang some of Castro's hit songs including Toffee, Seihor, and Odo Pa which had Kofi Kinaata joining him on stage.
Later, the band played Adonai, a Sarkodie song featuring Castro, for Kurl Songx to perform and the rapper joined him.
Sarkodie's appearance got most people in the auditorium gingered and on their feet to dance.
Diana Hamilton wins
The night ended with gospel singer Diana Antwi Hamilton emerging as the Artiste of the Year.
Hamilton took the award ahead of KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, Adina, and Medikal
The win saw her make history as the first woman alive to receive the ultimate award at the VGMA
Hamilton also took three other awards, including the Song of the Year, Gospel Song and Artiste of the Year, to bring her total to four.
KiDi reacts
Meanwhile, KiDi, known in private life as Dennis Dwamena, has spoken after losing out on the ultimate at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA 2021).
KiDi had been highly tipped to win the Artiste of the Year award but he lost out to gospel singer Diana Hamilton.
Moments after Hamilton was announced KiDi took to social media to thank God and his fans. He also used post on Twitter to congratulate Hamilton.
