A Ghanaian young man whose name was withheld has been arrested by the Accra Metro Health Inspectors after he was spotted throwing plastic waste in the gutter.

Photos shared on the verified Facebook handle of JoyNews show the moment the gentleman was seen dropping the plastic waste and when he was apprehended by the inspectors.

It is indicated that this happened during the Joy Clean Ghana Campaign which was organized in a bid to sanitize the environment especially at locations in and around Accra.

Meanwhile, in an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, indicated that making Accra the cleanest city in Africa has been achieved by 85 per cent.

According to her, when the lockdown was imposed in Accra and certain parts of the country, 100 per cent sanitation was achieved, but the dirt started emerging when the restrictions were eased.

She made this known while speaking to the media as part of a sanitation tour and cleanup exercise in parts of Maamobi in Accra on Tuesday, August 11.
