2,034 LLB candidates fail Makola Law School entrance examination

  • 2,824 students from the various law faculties across the country sat for the 2021 Ghana School of Law Entrance exams
  • Out of the number that sat for the exams, 2,034 candidates failed

Two thousand and thirty-four (2,034) Bachelor of Law (LLB) candidates who sat for the 2020/2021 academic year Ghana School of Law Entrance exams failed.

Out of the number of students who sat for the exam, only 790 of them passed, representing approximately 28% while the failure represents 72%.

This development contrasts favourable results for the students who wrote the exams last year. In 2020, 1,045 students out of 2,763 passed the entrance examination.

Over the past few years, admissions into the Ghana School of Law has become an issue especially in relation to the number of students that pass the entrance exams.

Akôsua Lëvëls believes those who really want to study law must travel out of the country to do so.

You guys shouldn't bother yourself studying law in Ghana. Find money and do it outside.

Nana Ofori Amanfo II said those who were denied admission did not have any sort of connections.

Joey Akanboriyine claims because of the limited space, a lot of people are denied admission.

The whole country is only one school that run a professional law course and how do you expect them to admit a lot of these students.

Still on the issues of the law school, an interlocutory application that was filed to halt entrance exams into the Ghana School of Law (GSL) was dismissed by the Supreme Court.

The ruling gave a go ahead for the Ghana School of Law entrance exams, which was slated for, Friday, July 27, 2018, to go as planned.

US-based Ghanaian lawyer, Professor Stephen Kweku Asare, filed the application to place an injunction on the exams.
