Former President of the Ghana Actors Guild, Nii Odoi Mensah has publicly called on benevolent organizations and individuals to support him financially to seek medical treatment in China.
Speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com, the Ghanaian actor noted that the Hospital in China is requesting for a sum of $15,000 for his treatment and other expenses respectively.
The former President further expressed optimism that if he receives the money he should be treated within three months ‘by the grace of God’.
Lamenting about the high cost of treatment for Kidney related diseases in Ghana; Nii Odoi Mensah revealed that in view of the high cost he owes the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in unpaid medical bills to a tune of GHc17, 000.
Doctors diagnosed the actor with kidney disease and put him on dialysis to keep him alive. The cost per session has shot up from GHc200 to GHc260 and he attends three sessions a week.
The actor after being diagnose of the kidney related ailment has been receiving support from the Juliet Ibrahim Kidney Foundation.
