Ghanaian owned provider, Zeepay Ghana Limited has secured additional equity investments from a local Ghanaian Angel Investor of USD15,000 towards its go to market plans. The investment was secured towards expansion into the local market and product development targeted at affordable segment of the economy.
Zeepay Ghana Limited focuses on using disruptive technology to make it easy for Mobile Money users to pay for goods and services at Retail point of sale. The platform is network agnostic and supports both Pre and Post Paid lines.
Zeepay’s aim is to operate as an aggregator in the offering of Mobile Financial Services (MFS) to financially excluded persons in Ghana and the general public. As an Aggregator we accept and process multiple payment from Mobile Money users and other instruments such as 3rd Mobile Wallets, at point of sale. Making it easier for bottom of pyramid and other mobile wallet users to transact without a bank account. Zeepay also offers Domestic and International remittances at Point of Sale and on Smart Phones. In the long term our objective is to be a one stop shop to Services such as Aid payments, Transfers, Utility Payments, and other related transactions including prepaid electricity top up. With over 5million Mobile Wallet customers in the market, we believe our service offering is coming to market at the opportune time and are very excited.
The success of Zeepay is attributed to its backbone which runs on open source and Java technology. We bring to the market innovative value added services like near field communications for speed of transactions “Swipe & pay”, electronic vending of vouchers and tokens – Utilities, Subscriptions etc, mobile top up vouchers for all networks, direct cash withdrawal, deposit and payments at point of sale.
