Paul Afoko Disregards 'Indefinite Suspension' Notice, Insists He Still Is Party Chair

National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Paul Afoko, who got suspended indefinitely by national executives of his party has disregarded the notice of his suspension stating he is still in charge of the party.

After the unanimous vote for his indefinite suspension by the national executive committee (NEC) on Friday following a petition of misconduct against him by the party's council of elders, the embattled party chair argued that the decision of an indefinite suspension is never binding on him.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson Nana Yaw Osei, Paul Afoko argued the decision by NEC was improper;

In the meantime the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been sued by three of its members over the suspension of Paul Afoko. The three; Stephen Owusu, Joseph Oppong Boadi and Tweneboah Kodua Emmanuel are praying the court to nullify the order suspending NPP’s national chairman.
