Wereko-Brobby Describes Afoko's Suspension As A 'Coup D'état'

Suspended founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby has described the indefinite suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko as a “coup d’état.”

Reacting to the decision by the party's  national executive committee (NEC) to suspend Paul Afoko for improper behaviour, Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby said the move was highly unfortunate considering the party's preparedness ahead the 2016 general elections.

The National Executive Committee of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition upheld a decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Elephant family to indefinitely suspend the beleaguered chairman following a petition from the Council of Elders.
