An Accra Circuit Remands Headteacher For Defiling 11-Year-Old Pupil

An Accra circuit court has remanded in lawful custody a Ghana Education Service registered head teacher for defiling an 11-year-old girl.

Emmanuel Ndom is said to have known his victim from an Abeka Lapaz-based school where he served as headmaster.

Appearing before the court presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku on Tuesday, Ndom  who was charged with defilement, pleaded not guilty.

According to the prosecutor, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Moses Atibillah, the claims against Emmanuel Ndom was filed by the current proprietress of the School.The report indicated that on June 16, this year, the victim approached her class teacher, with a secret.

According to the prosecutor, the victim told her class teacher Mr. Ndom has invited her to his office on several occasions and had sexual intercourse with her in 2014 when he was still head of the school. The victim added, the accused person warned her not to tell anyone if she wanted to stay alive.

Ndom is due back in court on November 9 when his lawyer is expected to makes a not guilty argument on his behalf.
