Charlotte Osei Says EC Will Consider Ghana's Interest On Quest For New Voters' Register

Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei has assured all participants of the stakeholders' forum on the voters' register at the Alisa Hotel on Thursday that the decision for or against a new voters' register will be taken in the best interest of Ghana.

According to Madam Charlotte Osei, her outfit can best take up decision upon recommendations from its 5 member panel.

Charlotte Osei further revealed that all modalities regarding the EC's decision on the Voters' register would strictly be based on the constitution.

The five-member panel has been chaired by His Lordship Professor V.C.R.A.C. Crabbe. The rest of the panel members are Dr. Grace Bediako, a former Government Statistician and former member of the National Development Planning Commission; Dr. Nii Narku Quaynor, a renowned computer scientist, Chairman of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) Board of Directors, and President of the Internet Society of Ghana; Maulvi Bin Salih, Ameer of the Ahmadiyya Mission of Ghana and Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana and Chairman of the National Peace Council.
