Local Black Stars Kicked Out Of CHAN 2016 Qualification

The local Black Stars failed to qualify for the CHAN competition to be held in Rwanda in 2016. This makes it the first time the local Black Stars have failed to make it to the competition.

The local Black Stars were kicked out on the away goal rule.

The team lost 1-0 to the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in Abidjan Friday. The Black Stars defeated the Ivoirians 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium two weeks ago. They were eliminated on a 2-2 aggregate.

AS Tanda striker Boua Koffi Davy scored the winner in the 35th minute, connecting with Cheick Moukoro’s cross to send the Elephants to the final tournament which takes place between 16 January and February 7 next year.

The Ivorians will now join 14 other countries with Congo and Cameroon battling in Brazzaville for the last available spot on Saturday.
