The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP,) Bernard Antwi Boasiako is accusing President John Dramani Mahama of masterminding the collapse of his business.
According to the tough speaking chairman, president Mahama adopted all sort of ways and means to cripple his mining business.
Mr. Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’ saw his HANSOL Mining Limited based in the Ashanti region ransacked on suspicion of being involved in illegal mining by the Inter-Ministerial Taskforce set up by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
The Taskforce was set up to fight and prevent galamsey activities across the country.
“The Taskforce allegedly made away with some valuables including money, gold and any other valuable they could lay their hands on and later touched the workplaces despite the fact that they saw no foreigner,” he said on Okay FM in Accra.
Chairman Wontumi said the action of the Taskforce was politically motivated; he admitted that the collapse of his company has immensely affected his finances.
“The Bible says whoever does not work should not eat, so I toiled to make good money. You can check from the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) to see how well my company was doing and you’ll realize that I used to make a whopping US$ 1million a day, and pay US $ 25 million a year to the state,” he fumed.
