Nigerian international striker Emmanuel Emenike was jeered by supporters of his UAE side Al Ain for unimpressive performances for the club over the weekend.
The top marksman who many thought would fit into the shoes of their legendary striker Asamoah Gyan who was sold to Chinese club Shangai SIPG when they came knocking on their doors with a lucrative offer has been woeful so far.

Emenike has been heavily criticised for his performances since this summer’s one-year loan move from Fenerbahce with many thinking he would not be able to replace their former free scoring striker who won the UAE Pro League Top Scorer award on three occasions.
Despite scoring four goals in seven matches, including two in August’s 4-2 Super Cup victory against Al Nasr, the criticisms seem not to be ending anytime soon.
Emenike who replaced the prolific Asamoah Gyan, was jeered by sections of the Al Ain support as he was substituted in Friday’s Arabian Gulf League encounter with Al Jazira.
His club Al Ain, who are currently the defending champions and perching at the top of the table, won the match 2-0.
