Bayern coach Pep Guardiola has asked Arsenal to forget about achieving a good result in the return encounter of the Champs league at Allianz Arena because their fans are going to be behind them.
Arsenal before this game, were in a seemingly dead and buried situation after losing their opening two games. They however lifted themselves up with victory over Bayern at the Emirates on Matchday 3; but that only looks like kept the door ajar as the Gunners probably need a point at the Allianz Arena to give themselves genuine hope.
Guardiola bemoaned his side’s predicament as injury ravaged them and made key players like Franck Ribery, Mario Gotze and Seabstian Rode all unavailable but things have improved slightly for him in recent weeks. Javi Martinez and Arjen Robben both returned to the team in their draw with Frankfurt on Friday, and should be ready to go.
Arsenal on the other hand, has a host of absentees in Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey.
So the situation leaves both coaches to play mind games which could in a way tilt victory in their directions.
So we all expect an uncompromising game today as Munich have won their last seven games at home in the Champions League, keeping five clean sheets and conceding just three goals in the run and Arsenal losing just one of their last seven away games in the Champions League against German opposition (W3 D3).
