The rage of confusion in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues unabated as supporters of suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko besieged the party’s headquarters Thursday.
The hundreds of supporters according to reports were based from the Brong Ahafo and Upper West regions.
The supporters describe the suspension of Afoko as illegal and want his immediate reinstatement.
The supporters numbering over 500 say they will boycott the 2016 elections if Afoko is not reinstated and acting chairman Freddie Blay removed.
There was heavy police presence at the scene; the security personnel had a tough time in controlling the crowd.
The loyalist of Mr. Afoko carried placards that read: "Freddie Blay is not our chairman" Äfoko yes; Blay, No".
NPP’s Deputy Director of Communications. Perry Okudzeto told Joy News, the party has picked up intelligence suggesting that busloads of NDC supporters will be storming the party’s headquarters Thursday.
