The Sowutuom police have apprehended Kwadwo Boateng 31, who is alleged to have abandoned his two children and absconded at Nyamekye near Abeka Lapaz in Accra.
The man reported himself to the police upon hearing the news that he was being wanted.
The Sowutuom district police commander, Superintendent Susana Adjei, told news men that the man had been charged for exposing the children to danger.
According to her, Kwadwo told the police that the mother of the children , his wife, who was living with the children at Ejisu Juaben in the Ashanti Region, left them in his care three weeks ago and had since not been heard of.
Kwodwo said since the children, aged three years and ten months respectively were brought to him, he had not been able to go to work and so not knowing what to do, he left them in the care of Akua Kyerewaa, a trader on the pretence of going to buy food and absconded.
Meanwhile the police have stated that the man will appear before the court on the charges and also hinted that the two children are doing well ever since the sister of Kwadwo took one to custody while the other one is still with Akua Kyerewaa.
