There has been the dismissal of over 40 teacher trainees at the Mount Mary college of Education in Somanya in the Eastern Region for failing in one or more subjects in their examination.
The affected students all in either their second or third year in college have expressed disappointment over the decision by their authorities insisting they be granted the chance to resit their papers.

It is unclear the reasons behind the drastic measure taken by the school authorities but much it may seem to be due to the high demand from the Education ministry for highly equipped teachers.

In the meantime, there has not been word from school authorities over the development as the affected are have all begun packing out of the school premises.
