Police Arrests Notorious Aflao Robber, Kwabla Bikor

The Keta police have finally busted Kwabla Bikor, a member of a notorious armed robbery syndicate, who allegedly engaged the Keta police and military patrol team in a shootout at Aflao in the Volta Region.

The armed to the teeth robbers were said to have invaded the residence of a store proprietor at Adzabukope near Denu in the Keta Municipality and in the process, shot a civilian in the abdomen.

Some volunteers in the area arrested Kwabla Bikor, 22, later on that fateful day with fresh gunshot wounds on his right leg in a nearby village and sent him to a police station with the other gang members having fled.

The Police have since sent the suspect to an undisclosed hospital where he is being treated whilst assisting police investigations.

Kwabla Bikor is said to have confirmed during police interrogation to be a member of the armed robbery gang who attacked the store proprietor.

The robbers, who are said to allegedly been terrorizing residents of Keta and its surrounding communities, were said to have made away with six mobile phones, unspecified amounts of money and a bunch of keys in the attack.

Chief Superintendent Alex Wowolo, Keta Divisional Police Commander, told DAILY GUIDE that on October 27, 2015 at about 5: 30 am, police had information of a robbery attack and a team of police and military personnel were dispatched to the place. While the robbers were fleeing after their operation,  they rather bumped into the police at Torkor in Afla along the Diamond Cement area where they engaged the police in a shootout.

He noted that the robbers managed to escape with gunshot wounds and only three of the victim's mobile phones were retrieved.

Meanwhile the police says, the proprietor who was shot in the abdomen by the robbers was responding to treatment.
