Aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Davis Opoku has vehemently denied rumours and allegation linking him to the pro Afoko supporters who besieged the party’s headquarters Thursday.
Mr. Davis Opoku Ansah in a Facebook post said: “I do not blame you… You think NPP is all about Accra and Facebook so even when executives have converged, you say they are NDC. You should be ashamed of yourself…. Continue spreading falsehood.”
Over 200 people believed to be NPP executives and members from the Brong Ahafo nad Upper West regions were bused to Accra to protest the indefinite suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko.
The supporters described the suspension of Afoko as illegal and want his immediate reinstatement.
But in an interview on Joy FM Perry Okudjeto, Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused Mr Opoku of orchestrating the protest.
“I have seen a picture of Mr Davis Opoku Ansah, popularly known as OPK, an Special Aide to the General Secretary, standing by the buses organizing the people to the party’s headquarters. We are not certain what their mission is. However we understand they are coming to the party’s headquarters to protest against the suspension of Paul Afoko,” Mr. Okudjeto said.
