If there was an award for stars that make the news in one week, then I guess the best person to take away that award will be Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.

The artiste has been trending in the media the whole weak with alarming comments about his split from Bullhaus entertainment. In his latest interview on Starr Drive with Bola Ray and Anita Erskine, the singer talks about his family, music, fashion, business, people’s perception about him, business and hints of a reconciliation with Samini.

First he talks about his wife whom he calls Shatta Michy. He professes his undying love for her and states that his wife has been with me through the ‘gutters’.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Shatta Movement, his wife has been supportive of his career.

His interview also bothered on people’s perception about him. Shatta Wale debunked rumours that he is rude. He noted that he is a cool person in the house to the extent that when he is at home, he helps his wife with the house chores

He noted that he is not rude and arrogant and should not be judged based on how he speaks and puts up in public. Shatta Wale in his interview admitted that he has learnt a lot from “past mistakes” and has turned on a new leaf.

According to him, until one gets closer to him, it is very difficult to know his real character in private life.

Still speaking on family, Shatta Wale in his remorseful self-noted that it is time for him to start behaving like a father for the sake of his son, Majesty.

According to the CEO of the Shatta Movement, he is rebranding to change the public perception about him and prove to Ghanaians that he is not rowdy or a “thug” as he has often been described by a section of the public.

“I feel I am a father now and I need to behave like one,” Shatta Wale told Bola Ray and Anita Erskine on the Starr Drive  on Thursday.

Shatta Wale welcomed his baby boy on July 12, 2015 with a tweet saying, "Today God gave me a bouncy baby boy and on this same day I won a trophy... who is greater than God.”

Shatta shook the Ghanaian music scene for some years and faced anyone who disagreed with his actions directly. This has brought about grudges between him and some of his closest allies and some artistes in the music industry.

To patch up the differences he has with some of these artistes, especially popular Dancehall artiste Samini, Shatta Wale said he is ready to meet the ‘Linda’ hit maker and render an apology in person.

He also said he wants to make up with Charter House so they can start working together.

The interview on Starr Fm would not have been complete without talking about his split from Bullhaus entertainment. Raising the subject matter of splitting, the controversial Ghanaian dancehall act denied that his relationship with his former manager and friend Bulldog is severed following some allegations he leveled against the CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment.

Shatta Wale made some wild allegations on Monday claiming Bulldog in a fist of rage, admitted to killing someone but failed to mention the name of the person.

It is unclear the individual he is talking about but Bulldog was charged, acquitted and discharged over the murder of another entertainment personality Fennec Okyere last year.

Speaking on the Starr Drive Thursday, Wale admitted he spoke out of his heart but does not regret the things he said about his friend.

He is, however, positive they will both work out their differences.

“In life people always realize their mistakes and they move… Everything is cool, we are still the same Shatta Wale and Bulldog that people know… Just a little talk, talk but we will solve it,” he assured.

The Shatta Movement king was in the news this week, having severed ties with his management Bullhaus Entertainment.Bullhaus Entertainment announced parting ways with the controversial entertainer over a frosty relationship.


“The management of Bullhaus Entertainment wishes to bring to the notice of the general public that we no longer have a working relationship with multiple award winning artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah A.K.A. Shatta Wale effective immediately,” the statement said.

It added: “We are humbled to have been part of the success story up until this point, and wish Shatta Wale all the best in his future endeavours. We also wish to thank Shatta Wale and his Shatta Movement team for choosing us as managers for his professional career for these past years. We will forever be fans of Shatta Wale and his music and still believe in the mantra of the Shatta Movement. ‘Shatta Movement for life”.

Shatta mentions Kenpong's ex as shopping for him

On fashion, Shatta Wale made some wild revelations while clearing the air on his relationship with ex girlfriend of businessman Kennedy Agyepong (Kenpong) Mona, a.k.a Hajia 4 Real.

He noted that they are very good friends and not love birds as rumoured. In essence there is nothing ‘serious’ as has been suggested.

Shatta says he is investing in Gold

Now on business, the singer revealed that he made a ‘couple of thousands’ from the movie Beasts of No Nation, the award winning movie.

Wale’s song Like My Thing was used as one of the soundtracks of the movie. He didn’t specify which currency he was paid in though.

The movie which premiered on Netflix and in selected Theaters in The United States of America on October 16 is said to have grossed some $83,861.It was screened at number of prestigious film festivals including Venice, BFI London and Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie tells the story of Agu (Abraham Attah) who when civil war tears his family apart, is forced to join a unit of mercenary fighters and transformed into a child soldier. Attah won Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival 2015.

He laid to rest reports about whether he was a street vendor or not before he was discovered for his role in the movie in an interview with The New York Times.

“People are saying I was a street vendor, but I’m not a street vendor. I was in school. We were playing football on our school field, and a white man was watching when I was playing. I thought he needed someone for the football team. He told us we should go for an audition. I was working hard for the role, so I got the role.

Idris Elba played the commander of the mercenary unit. The movie is directed by Award-winning Cary Fukunaga. Based on the 2005 novel of the same title by Uzodinma Iweala, it was partly shot in Ghana and also stars Ama K. Abebrese, David Dontoh and Grace Omaboe.

Answering a question on how he keeps his wealth from his career, Shatta Wale revealed that he is investing his wealth made out of music prudently and that he is not being reckless with his money as people may assume.

“I am on a gold project, I believe in my boss, I am working with my boss in Kumasi on that and so I am investing wisely,” he disclosed.

Shatta talks of apologizing to Samini

In his interview on Starr Fm on Thursday, fans were happy to hear Shatta Wale talk of a possible reconciliation with Samini. He hinted that he wouldn’t mind playing for free at Saminifest, a musical concert produced by rival Samini.

He told Bola Ray and Anita Erskine on Starr FM, he will do that because of the love he has for the ‘Linda’ musician contrary to popular belief that they are beefing over the title of Dancehall King in Ghana.

Samini recently ‘Vex Madd’, a song aimed at Shatta Wale. Several attempts have been made to reconcile the two but to no avail. Saminifest is expected to be held on December 5, 2015 at the Trade Fair, La.

Shatta Wale further went ahead to disclose that he is ever ready to apologize to colleague act Samini.

Wale, who has a long-standing feud with Samini says certain events in the past made him come across as a ‘crazy’ person but all that is behind him now.

The award-winning act said that he’s ready to make peace with Samini and to show how genuine that is, he added that he’s always been a fan of Samini, singing to one of Samini’s most popular songs ‘Linda’.

Wale who is working on some new materials last week sacked manager Lawrence Hanson, a.k.a Bulldog of Bullhaus Entertainment.
