Media reports do indicate that some members of the New Patriotic Patriotic have torn their membership cards into pieces as they express their disappointment in the ongoing wrangling within the rank and file of the party.
Some of the irate NPP members who were part of the demonstration at the party headquarters on Thursday November 5 say the ongoing developments in the party has placed a negative image on the party.
The hundreds of supporters according to reports were based from the Brong Ahafo and Upper West regions. The supporters describe the suspension of Afoko as illegal and want his immediate reinstatement. Aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Davis Opoku has vehemently denied rumours and allegation linking him to the pro Afoko supporters who besieged the party’s headquarters Thursday.
Meanwhile, calls are rife over the party to resolve its in-house wrangling or risk losing the 2016 elections.
