The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has asked the police to conduct full investigations into the Asawase murder case.
According to Mr. Akomea “We [NPP] want the police to investigate quickly and bring the perpetrators to book”.
He described the murder of Abubakar Saddiq as “unfortunate.”
He added that the party condemns and does not support any barbaric act like what happened in Asewase. “The party condemns it. We don’t know what kind of provocation people came under for people to use lethal weapons on themselves.”
He announced that the local party will meet and commiserate with the family if it is confirmed the dead person was a member or an NPP officer.
Abubakar Sadique Mohammed, 30, was stabbed Friday after being attacked by some unknown assailants.
The young man was part of persons who angrily stormed and ransacked the Party’s constituency office Friday protesting over comments by local Chairman Isaac Brenya, who called for the Party’s 2016 flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to step down.
