An unconfirmed fire scare at the GCB Tower at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra caused the complete shut down of the edifice on Monday.
Reports from Starr FM in Accra reveals that workers were evacuated as several offices completely locked up just in case fire sparked. The fire started in the basement of the huge building but managers of the building quickly averted any possible disaster.

So far, all workers of the GCB Bank together with several other companies have been sent home as security intensifies just so an imminent disaster is contained.

The Tower is adjacent Ground Zero where over 150 people died in the June 3 flood and fire disaster.
