Asamoah Gyan Slams Cut In Black Stars Bonus

The captain of the Ghana Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he is upset with the remuneration row between the players of the senior national team and the Sports Ministry.

The Shanghai SIPG based player vented his spleen in an interview on Accra-based Montia FM.  He said:

The ministry has decided to slash off 50% of the $10 000 initially given to Black Stars players as a reward for their service to the nation. The payment of the $5 000 bonuses instead of the $10 000 is set to take effect with fixtures this November.

According to the Sports Ministry, it is taking measures to sustain the payment of bonuses as the ministry does not have enough financial resources to cover the $10 000 bonuses and keep up with payments in other disciplines.
