Reports do indicate that some top party members of the opposition New Patriotic Party are about forming a break-away political party called ''New Labour Party'' (NLP)
The reports, based on investigations by local radio station, Peace FM further proves that the said new political party with the ''Hand'' as its emblem will see former political bigwigs in the erstwhile Kufuor regime.
Confirming the move on peacefmonline, one Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku who resigned as the General Secretary of the United Front Party to become General Secretary of the 'NLP' reveals he personally presented all neccessary documents to the Electoral Commission in order for the process of registration be completed.
The NLP is believed to have been formed from the NPP due to the unrest in the ‘Elephant’ fraternity which has led to the suspension of National Chairman Mr. Paul Afoko with his General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong also facing numerous troubles in the party.
Meanwhile, top executives from the rank and file of the NPP are yet to officially make a statement regarding the said break-away party.
