Court Remands Three In NPP Asawase Murder Case

A District Magistrate court in Asokwa in the Ashanti region of Ghana has remanded into prison custody three persons standing trial for the murder of an NPP member in the Asawase constituency.

The Court supervised by His Worship Korkor Achaw Owusu remanded the three out of the seven suspects facing the law court. The trio are Women’s Organiser of the NPP in the constituency, Hajia Wasila Gariba, Youth Organiser Issah Usman and Alhassan Issah, a Party member.

However, Constituency Chairman, Isaac Brenya, who was also arrested to assist in investigations, did not appear in court.

Two other suspects were also not present in court, as prosecutors noted that they were still conducting further investigation with different charges to be levelled against them.

The court however, adjourned the case involving the murder of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member in the Asawase Constituency, Abubakar Sadique to November 24.

The suspects’ allegedly murdered Sadiq Abubakar Mohammed, a 37-year-old party member last Friday.
