Mo Ibrahim Africa United Cup-Dream Team To Face TP Mazembe

The 2015 edition of the Mo Ibrahim Africa United Cup has been launched in Accra with a local select side, named the ‘Dream Team’ facing CAF Champions League winners TP Mazembe at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 22, 2015.

According to Primeval Media Consult, who are the organisors of the event, the match will climax the Mo Ibrahim Annual Governance Weekend, which is a three day event to convene prominent African political and business leaders, representatives from civil society, multilateral and regional institutions as well as Africa's major stake holders to debate issues of critical importance to the continent of Africa.

Larry Opare Otoo, CEO of Primeval said the weekend’s public concert will bring together some of the best performers like Gas Milla and Shatta Wale as well as DJ Black and later a football match which will showcase some of the best and outstanding African players like, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah as well as ex-internationals Laryea Kingston, Godwin Attram and John Mensah who will all play as guest players for the Dream Team.

“It is going to be a three-day event which starts on the Friday 20th of November, then there will be a musical concert on the Saturday before the match on the Sunday,” Opare Otoo said at the launch of the football match.

C.K Akunnor of Dreams FC fame and Augustine Arhinful will head the technical team of the Dream Team who have been picked from some selected teams across the country.

The players named for the Dream Team are Soulama Abdoulaye (Hearts of Oak), Richard Ofori (Wa All Stars), Godfred Saka (Aduana Stars), Tijani Joshua (AshGold), Lawrence Lartey (AshGold), Abeiku Ainooson (Asante Kotoko), Robin Gnagne (Hearts of Oak), Ahmed Adams (Asante Kotoko), Eric Kwakwa (Medeama), Kadri Mohammed (AshGold), Zakaria Mumuni (WAFA), Joseph Gordon (Medeama), Kennedy Ashia (Liberty Professionals), Latif Anabila (New Edubiase), Kofi Owusu (Berekum Chelsea), Joel Fameyeh (Asokwa Deportivo), Samuel Tetteh (WAFA), Latif Blessing (Liberty Professionals), Eric Opoku (AshGold), Bright Lukman (Ebusua Dwarfs) and Dan Darkwa (Aduana Stars).
