A former secretary to Hearts of Oak Board Ernest Thompson has redeemed a pledge he made to donate $1000 prize money to the ‘best referee of the season’, an award category at the just ended 2014/15 GFA/PLB Awards night at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
Mr Thompson who is now the Board Chairman of SSNIT who chaired the event, promised to give the winner of the “Best referee of the season” and the "Best footballer of the season" award categories an extra $1000 aside the PLB’s prize packages.
Referee Seidu Bomison who was adjudged as the best referee of the season has thus received the $1000 as his award.
Mr Ashford Tetteh Oku made the cash presentation to the referee on behalf of the sports enthusiast, Ernest Thompson.
The PLB Vice Chairman also presented a $1000 cash bonus on behalf of Mr Thompson to Ashantigold midfielder Eric Opoku last week, after he emerged as the “Best footballer of the season”.
